 Iwobi targets 15th EPL goal against Citizens


Everton forward Alex Iwobi will be aiming to score his 15th career Premier League goal when the Toffees face Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday (today) in an EPL clash.


The Nigerian who is expected to make his 165th EPL appearance has scored 14 goals – an average of 0.09 per match.


The 25-year-old has been on the winning side in 75 games.


He will also be hoping to make his 20th EPL assist in the encounter.


The former Arsenal forward has also lost 55 games and drawn 34 since his debut.


Iwobi who has scored one and made one assist in 11 games so far this term has been listed in the Toffees provisional squad for the game.


He was in action for Nigeria as they secured a playoffs spot after their drab 1-1 draw against Cape Verde in a Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier at the Teslim Balogun stadium last Tuesday.


Everton are winless in their last five Premier League games recording two draws and three defeats with the Toffees last having a longer run without a win in the competition in January 2018 under Sam Allardyce.


They occupy the 11th position with 15 points while Manchester City are placed second second with 23 points from the same games played.


Rafa Benitez’s side have won more EPL  matches (14) against the Citizens than anyone other team.
