A standoff erupted between police and the families of a murder victim about who would prosecute the culprit.
After reportedly butchering a pregnant woman at No. 4 Nekede Old Road in Imo State, the culprit was apprehended by residents on Sunday, June 19.
Locals attempted to lynch him, but Ihiagwa division police intervened. During interrogation, the injured suspect blamed his actions on the marijuana he'd consumed.
Later, he is seen being brought to a police van.
However, the deceased's family in Ohaji Egbema refused to let the police take the suspect. They demanded that the suspect be released so that they could deal with him how they saw fit for the murder of their relative.
