There is no longer any need for WOVOV women and other women of our great country to shy away from the fact that it is time to " take the bull by the horn". Women have been limited and marginalised by many factors when it comes to being heard or seeking our rightful place at the table. Most times voiceless women are chosen and preferred in some quarters by our men folks in opposition to women who are,
although respectful want to have a seat at the table and speak for other women. Despite research and past experiences that show that women are good ambassadors for our beloved country, such as our very own mother and sister former minister of foreign affairs and finance minister and current Director General of World trade Organisation (WTO).Ngozi Okonjo Iweala .
Well educated women are often times pushed aside for their male counterparts with less educational qualifications and experience due to our patriarchal society where men tend to support men and women are in some archaic quarters meant to be seen and not heard. This old attitude of treating women as second class citizens in our country has to stop, Nigerian women should be given enough places at the table both at federal and state levels. This attitude of always choosing men over women in some states of the federation is why striving institutions who are given inexperienced men in key positions in government have become a complete embarrassment to the government of their state and destroying the institutions instead of being bettered are been rundown.
I use this opportunity to call our brothers who dominate the media houses and who have mothers, wives and sisters to give us the audience and give us the opportunity to carry our messages. I also call them to give us the opportunity to invite our women (WOVOV) on talk shows, radio stations and blogs to debate this issue until it gets to our beloved father and president his excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ( GCFR) and his vice president his excellency Kashim Shettima and the necessary change can starts. As much as l support the reserved seat bill for women , I want the inclusion of more women in
top political positions of government at federal and state levels to start now, no more delays.
WOVOV women worldwide are here to support renewed hope agenda 2027 of our dear president, and we also want our voice and our votes to matter.
50 million women for WOVOV is achievable, and we want more hands on deck. Invite your mothers, sisters, and adult daughters to join this great movement and stand on the side of making a great history for our beloved country.
