Born on Christmas day, Emmanuel Nicholas Okokon aka White Bom Bom is a selfless phenomenal philanthropist. The men, women and youths of Uruan Local Government Area have not ceased to express their appreciation to the son to whom they are well pleased, and has allowed God raise him to be a blessing to the poor, widow and the fatherless.
According to Mr. Okokon, he started giving when he was a nobody, because it comes naturally for him to give.
Many times he had to borrow in order to give. For instance, there have been situations, while building a house for a widow and the money to complete it was not available, he had to borrow to complete it, so he could give the widow a befitting place of abode.
He don't just build the houses and donate it without furniture , those bungalow are fully furnished with portable water .
White Bom Bom on his own has built four three bedroom bungalows for widows, a three bedroom bungalow for an handicap man and he has also built a seven bedroom palace for Eteidung Nna Enin, who lost his home during a communal clash.
Mr. Okokon has given out 12 motorbikes to youths, four mini buses to elders and a Toyota corolla car to his councilor, Hon Keppy Ekpeyong
These gestures and other kindhearted selfless sacrifices has not gone unnoticed, that is why he was honoured with the chieftaincy title of Mbiom 1 of Mosongo – Ibonda by the clan head of Mosongo Ibonda, His Royal Highness Edidem Anthony Ekpe Asuquo.
Chief Emmanuel Nicholas Okokon was born into the family of Sir. Nicholas Okokon KSM, Nung Oku Uruan, Mosongo-Ibonda clan in central Uruan. He attended St. Gabriel RCM Primary School, Nung Oku Uruan. He had his secondary education at Government Technical College, Ikot Ada Idem.
Chief Okokon’s tertiary education was at the Open University of Nigeria where he obtained his LLB and MLD in Legislative drafting .
White Bom Bom has been under the tutelage of God’s grace and God has processed his life to this level, not that he has attained his best but he is grateful to God for taking him from where he used to be to where he is today.
White Bom Bom has worked with Nitex Foods in Lagos, he later became a professional Musician with three albums in his kitty. And these albums have given him laurels: Best Reggae Artiste in 1999 during Nigeria Song Festival (NISOFEST) organized by the Federal Ministry of culture and Tourism in 2005. He has also been honoured in Akwa Ibom State as the Best Artiste in the State.
The highly talented artiste, worked as a media consultant to Former Gov. Godswill Obot Akpabio and he is currently Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Research and Documentation.
In 2019, Chief Emmanuel Nicholas Okokon aspired to be a Legislative member representing Uruan in the Akwa Ibom State House Assembly, but that did not come to pass due to zoning policy of peoples Democratic Party.
He will be gunning for the same office come 2023, white Bom Bom has learnt more than he envisaged in governance and from his wilderness experience in the hand of God and this has made him know the people’s need and with capacity built along the years, he is well endowed to be in the State House of Assembly as a representative of his people.
